Going on 9 years as a mom,
it’s fair to say I’ve been
obssessed with photography at
least that long. I’m the mom
who takes pictures of every
tiny little activity my kids do.
I feel compelled to record the
moments I know will never come
back, and I will likely
forget.
Enjoying photography as a
professional happened almost
by accident when a friend and
I decided to learn studio
photography as a distraction
from another cold, dark Alaskan
winter ahead of us. Just before
moving to Michigan I fell in
absolute love with natural light
photography.
I’m deeply sentimental, and a
sucker for nostalgia. As a
child in rural Colorado I was
lucky to have every opportunity
to be creative and adventurous.
I still find inspiration all
around me; from the solitude of
nature to the activity of the
urban street. This inspiration
is the fiber of my work.
Being able to put my creativity
and heart into both motherhood
and photography is something I
am grateful for every day.
