While I was in NYC for the Playtime NY convention, I had so much fun shooting this editorial with the amazing clothing lines Sanguinetti Clothing and Fleur + Dot. I was so impressed by both of these companies. The details and quality in their pieces was top of the line.

Tour de Cure Simple Sessions | MICHIGAN CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHER

Spring is here, and that means we’re getting ready for ADA’s annual Tour de Cure. This year my son, Alex, was asked to be a youth ambassador for the Michigan division. This has given him a chance to speak in front of crowds, and share his story in writing. To know Alex is to know that he has lived with Type 1 Diabetes since he was 3 years old. He, and millions of people whose lives are touched by Diabetes, is optimistic that one day there will be a cure for this disease.

There are a limited number of TdC Simple Sessions available. Your session can take place any time until August 1st, but you must schedule your session before May 1st to be able to donate your session proceeds to TdC. Use the contact link above, and I will email you back regarding availability and locations, etc.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who participated in these sessions last year (some favorite pics below), and those who donated without a session… especially Jean Smith, who shot most of the sessions with me, and whose family rode with us in the race.

Something that’s guaranteed to get me all stressed out is the task of photographing another photographer’s family… but photographing a family with TWO photographers? Oh ya, and four boys to chase around? Serious pressure. Would you love to see your child photographed in an upcoming Laurel Photography editorial photo shoot? I’m always looking for children with unique features (red hair, very long hair, natural curls, freckles, etc.). They don’t need to have modeling experience, but they must take direction well. I’m looking for children of all races, between ages 5-10 years.

What is an editorial shoot? It’s a photo shoot in which clothing, hair, makeup, props, and location are designated to a common theme. Editorials are sometimes done for clothing designers and publications, and sometimes they are done for artistic expression or business promotion. You will have to sign a model release to give permission for images to be owned by Laurel Photography. In return for your time, and your child’s participation, you will be given roughly 5 edited images as digital files with unlimited print rights.

Please submit the following information using the CONTACT link at the top of the page. Include:

- Child’s Age

- Child’s Gender

- Child’s disposition (outgoing, shy, talkative, energetic, calm, silly)

- Modeling experience, if any

- Talent that might be visually interesting, or could be easily incorporated into a shoot (dancer, violinist, equestrian)

- Contact information

After you have contacted me, I will email you back so that you can send me 2-4 images to show full height, facial features and hair (snapshots are great as long as they are clear).

I can’t guarantee that all children will be selected… there are so many variables that determine whether we need a certain “look”. I’ll keep all entries on file throughout the year. THANK YOU for your interest!

Oak Trees In Winter | EDITORIAL CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER

This editorial was inspired by the copper, bronze and grey colors that pop out when everything else is covered by white snow. You can see some of these images published in one of my absolute favorite online publications, The Dreamer Journal. It’s exciting to be a contributor to such a beautiful and creative publication. Special thanks to the lovely models… non-identical twins who braved the cold for this quick photo shoot, and my neighbor’s massive Saint Bernard’s who matched the color scheme perfectly!
