Julie must hear it all the time, “You’ve got your hands full.” Not just because she’s the mom of these beautiful newborn twins, but because she’s also the mom of two energetic 3 year old boys! And yes, she does have her hands full… diaper bags, jackets, carseats, all times TWO. I had fun going through Mallory and Preston’s pictures. I love newborns!

The below image of Preston is done in urban vintage. Visit my website “home” link above left for more examples of color conversions. The above picture is converted to “chocolate”… more technically known as sepia. Brown tones are used instead of the grays in a black and white conversion.

I had some ideas of getting tender little cuddly shots of them together, except the babies were wonderful until we tried to get them to cuddle. Then the arms went flying wildly and we were afraid someone would get hurt. The one would lie peacefully while the other cried. Once the peaceful one decided to cry, the other would settle down. And as I’m wondering if I could handle that many babies at home at once, I notice Julie’s completely put together and calm.

LOVE the hair on this baby girl! I added Mallory’s pictures as a storyboard to show a sample to anyone wondering what a storyboard is. They’re printed as 15×30″ on 1/4″ foamboard. You can set them on a wall shelf, bookshelf or put them right on the wall without a frame. They have a clean, contemporary look. They are large and require extra time to customize. They are $110 each.

Delicious Art
Friday November 30th 2007

Copy of IMG_4290.JPG    I started loading a bunch of pictures from twins I photographed today, but it’s late. I didn’t finish them. Since I don’t want to go to bed without posting something, here’s a fun picture of a cake we bought with Nathan’s sister and brother for his parents’ 40th wedding anniversary last week. It was on Thanksgiving. His dad’s birthday is Halloween, and his mom’s birthday alternates sharing Thanksgiving with their anniversary. We had so much fun having them visit our new place in Brighton for the first time. We all miss them something terrible. We tried to convince them to stay and live in our basement, but you know how it is. Your job doesn’t pay you if you don’t show up. Dangit.

Oh, and about the cake. HELLO! Talent city. The cake maker is a friend of my sister-in-law’s and she does this just for fun. Seriously? She needs to be in business with this. And it was SO DELICIOUS! If you live in the Lansing area (or Brighton for that matter) and you need a unique, fun and delicious gift I have her number. ALso, I’ll grab a picture Erika sent of the cake she made for her baby shower when she was pregnant with little Owen (posted below). The file’s not very big, but you can see that she does some amazing detail work. Okay, I’m a dork. I think I spent just as much time doing that as I would have spent on finishing the twin pictures. Oh well, gives you something to look forward to next time, right?

So many cute kids!

Owen is the fourth baby for Brian and Erika. He is one of those babies that almost makes you forget how much work it is to take care of newborns… almost.

A WINK and A SMILE? Right back at ya Owen ;) . Too cute! Doesn’t he have the yummiest cheeks?!

Megan’s pictures were all SO CUTE! I had a hard time deciding on just one to post.

The girls will line up for these boys in about ten years. I took a bunch of indoor pictures, and then decided it wouldn’t hurt to have outdoor ones too. They were a little spent after the indoor pictures, so I bribed them to come to my back yard by hiding Halloween candy in a bush and telling them we were going on a treasure hunt. I love how these turned out!

How do you fit FOUR pictures on one little card?! I had to really negotiate the lines on this one. I especially love how the colors turned out, because the boys’ gorgeous blue eyes pop!

I did a mega blitz of photo sessions the last month we were in Anchorage. One of the best things about being a photographer is that I meet some really cool people. And even better is that many of them become loyal clients that I get to see again and again. It’s so fun to watch kids grow this way, because I see newborns who later come in as crawlers, and even later come in for 1 year photo sessions. And none of us can believe how the time flies while they’re doing all this growing!

These are some of the pictures from Anchorage. I was working on sending in the final order to print when I got a wave of homesickness for Alaska. Enjoy these pictures of my “frozen chosen” friends.
