Sakura
Sunday March 30th 2008

We’re back from Washington DC! I have so much to post about the Cherry Blossom Festival. For a long time my husband and I talked about going to DC to see the thousands of trees that were a gift from Japan years ago. He lived in Japan before we were married, and every time he talks about the Sakura (cherry blossoms) in Japan he seems to almost think of them as magical. While living in Alaska we knew it would be hard to pull off a trip like that, but now it’s just a roadtrip away. The festival happened to fall on our kids’ Spring Break, so we went for it. And now I know what he has been talking about all this time! It was like being in a movie. Just breathtaking! Pictures truly don’t do the experience justice, but of course I tried. We also went to many national monuments. But those pictures will come later…
HAPPY EASTER!
Saturday March 22nd 2008
I had a total blast at My Urban Toddler the other night. They had a private party with a limited number of families, and everyone had a chance to get a picture with the Easter Bunny. There was also an egg hunt and other fun things for the little ones. They had so much fun! Check out the link on the left of my blog to see what events they have coming up at My Urban Toddler, or to do some shopping. And of course here are some of the images I’ve had a chance to go through.

Searching high and low for those eggs!

You gotta love this little sweetheart. She was crazy about the Easter Bunny!

Easter egg hunt success! Must… fit… one… more… in the basket.

Some little cuties were happier without the big bunny.
One thing I love about My Urban Toddler is that parents have a lot of fun too. I noticed there are always lots of dads there.

Towards the end I came back into the photo room to find this handsome little man playing around with his dad. Of course I snapped some shots, and got a great storyboard out of his cute expressions.
Olympics 2016?
Wednesday March 19th 2008
Really, the pictures say it all. But can I just add that this girl is not only insanely talented and beautiful; she is truly one of the nicest kids I’ve ever met. P.S. I’m not really sure when the next Olympics would be that she could be in, or if she’s aiming for that… but I do know she loves gymnastics and is clearly very talented at it.

And a side note… After the photo shoot with My Urban Toddler ( see www.myurbantoddler.com ) on Thursday I’ll have one more shoot and then I’m taking a little break for a family vacation. If you are hoping to get a session in April or May, please book ahead. There are only a couple of spots available.
Lucy’s girls
Tuesday March 18th 2008
This was one of the best shoots for me, because it was for a friend of mine from Colorado. We went through high school together and they recently moved 30 minutes away from us! Her girls are SOOOOOOOO GOOD. And of course you’ll see they’re knockout beautiful! The older one is her mom’s clone. My husband has always called Lucy my “blond Korean friend” because her mom is Korean, and her dad is tall and blond. I just LOVE her family, and can’t wait for them to see all the great pictures we got! I can imagine Young Sun jumping up and down over these pictures of her sweet granddaughters.
I got this tu-tu tank at My Urban Toddler.
I made Lucy bring this outfit because it’s what her daughter wore the first time I met them to hang out in Michigan. I was IN LOVE with the petal bell bottoms and little flower pattern. So cute! The whole thing is velvet. Luckily she was such a patient model through all the wardrobe changes.
Cutest little thing! I love the tongue that was impossible to keep in once she decided it should be out. And the little mouth dimple is adorable.
