Awesome things about Alaska:

- gigantic mountains

- gigantic ocean next to the gigantic mountains… breathtaking

- awesome people

- I won’t break a sweat once because it’s guaranteed to be 50-70 degrees without humidity (LOVE IT!)

- Moose’s Tooth Pizza… need I say more?

Not awesome things about Alaska:

- my kids will be up at midnight telling me it’s still daytime… and they’ll be right (we had this argument 100 times every summer we lived there)

- 4 hour time difference from East Coast Time

- 13 hours all together to get the 5 of us there… I can count on at least 2 Aspen meltdowns in that time frame, maybe a random accident at the airport from Sam, and definitely Alex and Sam will fight about who sits where, Nathan will fall asleep somehow (could you if you were 6 1/2 feet tall and squished into an airplane seat?) just when Aspen needs a diaper change and Sam is “staaaaaarving”… think of a happy place…

And still I can’t wait for this trip! Here are a couple of pictures from just before we moved, along with some of my squishy, handsome little nephew taken last week.

I meet the nicest people through photography. I’m obviously a huge fan of family, so it’s fun for me to get these intimate glimpses of family life. Speaking of glimpses, this is just a small peek from this session with a seriously beautiful family.

I can’t think of a post title, because it’s late and everything I’m coming up with is really lame… can’t tell for sure because it’s late. If I go with past experience though I’m pretty sure I should stop myself at “Hmmmmm… ” for the post title. I’m so behind on posting, but I’ll leave you with two pictures from today. We had a rockin’ Memorial Day weekend that ends with all of us being happy and exhausted.

We hop the fence and explore every chance we get. There’s a bluejay preserve 100 yards from our back door. Aspen loves to see the birds peeking their heads out their little doors.
