before 2009
Monday December 29th 2008
2008 was a year of big changes. We had just moved from friends and family in Anchorage, Alaska to family and friends-to-be in Brighton, Michigan. This meant getting my business off the ground in a whole new place. It means a lot to me that I see referrals and repeats on the schedule more and more. Especially as I feel like I’m still working out the kinks of turning an art that I love into a business that I hope people love. Getting the emails and phone calls from elated parents makes it so worth it!
So as we go into a whole new year… here are some favorites from my last session of 2008. I had to get it posted before 2009.
I’m excited to see what the new year holds! Enjoy the rest of your holiday… I know I will!

little doll

Doesn’t she look like a little doll with those long, full, curly eyelashes and porcelain skin? She also has these sweet little pink cheeks, but my blog writer is having issues again with showing full color. The first one is the closest I could get it to post to the original image. The rest are a little washed out compared to the originals, but better than when I kick up the color and it goes overboard… *sigh*, I thought I had this blog figured out!_thumb_1.jpg)

a few more

These sisters were so cute, and so expressive! From an email their mom sent when she saw the full gallery: “I have to tell you again that I love the facial expressions you captured… I feel like I have to get them all and frame them like a film strip. It’s so funny!”

I heart dimples.
One favorite of many

The Plan: Schedule 0 sessions from mid-November to January so I can do lots of holiday stuff with my family and be a domestic diva.
The Reality: I sewed an apron, baked cookies and bread, our house is Christmas-ready, pantry organized, refrigerator scoured, I read books by the fire, and two weeks ago was caught up on past sessions. So one by one I kept scheduling last-minute sessions. You see, if you are a photographer you understand this addiction. You need to see new images, you thrive on being creative. And as fun as it was to lay low beginning back in November, I GOT BORED. So here is the first of some favorite images from this and last week. Stay tuned for more.
