Rumors Confirmed | MICHIGAN PHOTOGRAPHER
Wednesday July 22nd 2009

Laurel Photography is now scheduling additional Fall sessions from September forward. Everything is booked up to mid-September (although we always add newborns and maternity sessions when we can).

Has anyone else noticed this summer is flying by?

I almost forgot these | MICHIGAN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

I meant to add these to the last post. There are so many, but I don’t have the time to edit and post them all right now… maybe I’ll get a chance later? Probably not. ( ;

I have this little problem… | MICHIGAN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER
Monday July 13th 2009

I can’t stop taking pictures of Rowan. She’s this perfectly sleepy, beautiful, cooperative little thing. Unless you count the fact that she has peed and pooped on her dad during photos (if you want to see a 6 1/2 foot grown man go all drama queen, this is how it’s done), I would say she’s a perfect little model.

Anyway, get ready for a massive photo roll about to happen… and because I don’t start shooting clients again for a few weeks, there will likely be more posts of my kids to come.

Oh, and one last thing. Lots of people have asked about Rowan’s name. The story is that we almost used it 3 1/2 years ago when we were expecting Aspen. We ended up using Aspen, and after all the papers were signed Nathan said “I love it because Laurel is a tree and so is Aspen.” I didn’t even think of that (a lot of good an English degree from BYU does if you can’t even catch that, right?). So when we found out we were having a girl we ruled out tree names just because we didn’t like any. About a week before she was born I remembered how much I loved the name Rowan, so I looked it up. Turns out it’s a tree with red berries (thus you’ll see lots of red in these next pics). Her middle name, Elizabeth, is a family name on my mom’s side. I guess I have a great, great, great (sorry, Mom, can’t remember how many greats you told me) aunt Elizabeth who lived to be 103? It’s also my middle name… which is why I resisted using it even though Nathan wanted to use it from the time we found out we were having a girl. But it goes nicely with Rowan, so there you have it. Here is Rowan Elizabeth at 1 week old.

Wanna see the cutest baby on the planet?
Tuesday July 07th 2009

Rowan Elizabeth Hogge is here! She was born Friday the 3rd of July… a very easy delivery for a very easy baby. But easy is a relative term when it comes to newborns, right?

Here are a few pictures from yesterday. I loved how the clouds looked so I forced myself to get outside and take these. Good thing too. The clock ticks fast with newborns… so sad, but so true (***sigh***).
