He rocked this photo shoot on his birthday. He has the sweetest, happiest, most curious personality… reminds me a lot of my oldest when he was one. Loving the shots with the cupcake he devoured in moments.

… I feel about 4 days behind on everything… I have a much lighter session schedule this fall compared to last year… My days sometimes go by in a blur… My makeup bag is neglected… My broom gets more attention than ever. And it’s no wonder I love taking time away for myself, to meet people, to photograph the relationships and personalities that make this world go ‘round, to see something beautiful and capture it on film forever, to rock out to music in my car and maybe even sing at the top of my lungs to “500 Miles” (clears the mind).

And it’s no wonder that when I pull into my driveway and see the eager little faces that are always glad to see me I am happy inside and out. Because in the middle of all the chaos and demand that goes along with four, there is also love and satisfaction x4.

Enjoy a few pics of my two little girls. I’ve had this first shot in my head since before Rowan was born. Aspen loves her dolls so much, and used to call them “baby sister” before we even knew we had room for one more baby in our home. It’s fun to have the girls all to myself now that their big brothers are in school all day. Where Aspen=Energy, Rowan=Serenity. Can you tell?
