I belong to a growing online community of professional photographers called the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP). If you’re a photographer, check them out. They’re taking new applications, and it comes with some pretty cool benefits.

As a side note I wrote a featured article for them this year. To read it, or to see a really washed out pic of me that my son took, click HERE to read.

Good things are coming to Laurel Photography in 2010… You want a teaser? Okay, I was never good at keeping secrets so I’ll just spill it. There’s a package on the way with a digital camera that will make it possible for me to record and take still photos. I have some big plans with that baby.

Stay tuned, because I have a lot of goodies to announce in the coming weeks…

Happy 2010 everyone, and THANK YOU for a great 2009! Go on, celebrate!

I wore a fanny pack on an alligator tour through the Everglades today… yeah, I’m just that cool.

Sam and the Spirit of Christmas | MICHIGAN CHILD PHOTOGRAPHER
Monday December 14th 2009

Update: I’m sending off my last set of client orders today. For me the 2009 business year is FINISHED (imagine me doing the cabbage patch… maybe the moon walk? … raising the roof?… I know, I have skilz). I hope you all get a chance to enjoy the holidays with those you love.

And to kick things off, here is Christmas generosity at its finest.

My six-year-old has always been easy going and considerate of others. When he sat on Santa’s lap at the mall, Sam asked Santa to bring him “Whatever you want to bring me.” And this is a picture he brought home from school the other day. The assignment was to ask Santa for anything they wanted…
